Xherdan Shaqiri could have agreed to sign for Liverpool.
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool is willing to pay the £17 million price Bayern Munich have set, and that the 22-year-old Swiss international has agreed to sign a four-year-contract.
If the information is correct, that it would represent a dramatic about face for Shaqiri.
Earlier, Shaqiri denied that he is seeking a move on his Facebook page.
“It is the time of year when much is written, but as we all know, there is very little truth behind it,” wrote Shaqiri.
“As you all know I am currently on holiday so I am not in talks with other clubs nor have I spoken with any journalists.
“I have a contract with FC Bayern until 2016.
“My advisers are in regular contact with the responsible people at FC Bayern so there is no reason for speculation,” he concluded.
Shaqiri was thought to be unhappy with his lack of playing time at Bayern Munich.
In the 2013/2014 season, the Swiss youngster only made 13 appearances in all competitions for Bayern, 10 of them as a substitute, according to WhoScored. Shaqiri managed 6 goals and 2 assists when he played.
At World Cup 2014, Shaqiri featured in all four of Switzerland’s games, and managed a hat trick against Honduras in a group stage match.
