US State Department Issues Travel Advisory for 3 African Nations

Americans are often perceived as wealthy in Nigeria and targeted by criminals, the department warned.

The U.S. State Department recently issued travel advisories for Nigeria, Ethiopia, and São Tomé and Príncipe, with the countries designated as “Level 3: Reconsider Travel.”

The advisory for Nigeria, issued on April 8, was updated to include information on changes to U.S. embassy operations in the country and warnings against traveling to certain locations.
