Shedding new light on the question of whether “gender-affirming” treatment reduces suicide risk among people suffering from gender dysphoria, a new study found that transgender individuals in Denmark are at significantly higher risk of suicide than Denmark’s general population.
For their study, published on June 27 in the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers at the Danish Research Institute for Suicide Prevention in Copenhagen examined the health and legal records of 6.6 million Danish-born people over 42 years.
