Under new laws in South Australia, anyone found breaching COVID-19 rules could be handed a two year jail term or a $20,000 ($US14,041) penalty, while businesses could be fined up to $75,000.

Instances of not complying include ignoring vaccine mandates or refusing to wear a face mask when visiting high-risk settings such as hospitals, disability care, and nursing homes.
