A Walmart serving the remote B.C. port city of Prince Rupert has announced it will permanently close after a temporary shutdown for safety reasons led to a “larger review” of the store’s operations.
“While the store was initially closed out of concern for the safety of our associates and customers, the prolonged closure led to a larger review of the store location and operations and our long-term plans,” the store said in a Sept. 29 post on Facebook. Walmart said the store is closed “effective immediately.”
