Police Ban Budapest Pride March in Hungary as Mayor Vows It Will Go Ahead

Police cited concerns about certain speech or symbols being visible to minors.

Hungarian police said on Thursday that they will ban the upcoming Pride march in Budapest, despite opposition from the city’s mayor.

Tens of thousands of people from Hungary and abroad are expected to attend the annual event on June 28.
