LEICESTER, England—Leicester City soccer club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, a Thai tycoon, was killed along with four others when his helicopter crashed and exploded after a Premier League match on Oct. 27, the soccer club and police said.

Srivaddhanaprabha in 2010 bought the unheralded central England side, which went on to stun the soccer world by beating 5,000-1 odds to win the Premier League title in 2016, in what amounted to a sporting fairy tale.
