Israel, Hezbollah Agree to Ceasefire in Lebanon, US Official Says

Israel’s ambassador to the United States said Israeli troops would continue sweeping for Hezbollah in a security zone in southern Lebanon.

A U.S. official told The Epoch Times that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire with terrorist group Hezbollah on June 19, following an intense flare-up in fighting overnight in Lebanon.

The U.S. official indicated that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to the ceasefire following mediation efforts by Qatar and the United States. The official said the truce took effect at 4 p.m. local time.
