Clive Hamilton, an author, and professor of public ethics at Charles Sturt University in Canberra, Australia, has done in-depth an investigation of China’s influence and interference operations in Australia. He published his findings in the 2018 book “Silent Invasion: China’s Influence in Australia.”

The main threat Hamilton identifies is that Beijing has been working to sway elite opinion, attempting to get decision-makers in Western countries to conform with the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) agenda.
