Indonesia Tsunami: Race Continues to Rescue Survivors Trapped in Rubble

PALU, Indonesia—Rescue teams in Indonesia struggled on Sept. 30 to reach communities feared devastated by a major earthquake and tsunami on Sulawesi island, with an estimated death toll of 832 killed as of Sept. 30.

Dozens of people were reported to be trapped in the rubble of a hotel and a mall in the city of Palu, which was hit by waves as high as six meters (20 feet) following the 7.5 magnitude earthquake on Sept. 28.
