Several groups have been granted intervener status in the judicial review of $15,000 in fines imposed on a Northwestern Ontario community and its mayor for not recognizing Pride Month.

The Township of Emo filed for judicial review over a November 2024 decision by the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal that ordered the town to pay $10,000 and Mayor Harold McQuaker to pay $5,000 to LGBT advocacy group Borderland Pride.
