Six in 10 Canadian students say they use generative artificial intelligence to improve the quality of their schoolwork, and two-thirds of them admit it is harming their overall knowledge retention, according to a newly released survey.
Fifty-nine percent of students 18 or older said they used generative artificial intelligence (AI) for assignments, up seven points from last year’s 52 percent for a year-over-year increase of 13 percent, the survey from KPMG Canada found.
