Gender Pay Gap Figures Suggest Women Earn About 89 Cents to Every Dollar a Man Does

Men are 1.8 times more likely to be in the highest-paid quartile, while women are 1.4 times more likely to be in the lowest-paid quartile.

Australian workplaces have made modest progress in narrowing the gender pay gap, but women still take home less than men on average.

New figures released by the government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) show that for every dollar earned by a man, a woman earns 88.8 cents.
