Ethiopia’s Abiy Says Death Toll From Recent Protests Rises to 86

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia—The death toll in Ethiopia from protests in October has risen to 86, according to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who urged citizens to resist forces threatening to impede the country’s progress.

“We have to stop those forces who are trying pull us two steps back, while we are going one step forward,” Abiy said at a Nov. 3 news conference.
