The former president of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, was stripped of his citizenship on Oct. 24 following the military overthrow of his government, according to national news outlet 2424.mg.
Rajoelian’s citizenship was revoked as part of a sweeping decree by the African island nation’s new prime minister, Herintsalama Rajaonarivelo, which stripped all Malagasies of their citizenship if they were also citizens of another country.
