Canada’s 2026 Olympic Medal Count Is Rising—What Events Are Likely to Lead to More Gold?

Canada has now won 12 medals at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, most recently boosted by the Canadian women’s team winning gold in speed skating.
With the Games set to close on Feb. 22, here’s a recap of Canada’s medals so far and where the country stands the best chance of gaining more hardware going forward.

Mikaël Kingsbury has achieved double medal success, securing gold in the Feb. 15 men’s dual moguls freestyle skiing event and earning silver on Feb. 12 after a tiebreaker loss in the final of the men’s moguls event. Kingsbury’s performance at the Games cemented him as the most decorated freestyle skier in history.
