More than 5,000 people may have been killed and thousands more are missing after a powerful storm prompted devastating flooding in eastern Libya, according to officials.

State media LANA reported on Tuesday that the interior ministry from Libya’s eastern Parliament-backed government estimates over 5,300 fatalities. The Epoch Times cannot confirmed the estimate.
