Trump Launches New Website for Low-Price Prescription Drugs

President Donald Trump announced the launch of a new website on Feb. 5 that offers prescription medicine at discount prices.

TrumpRx.gov operates as a search function that acts as a direct-to-consumer website—cutting out middlemen, known as pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs)—offering large discounts and transparency in drug costs.

The patient, looking for their medication, is given a printable coupon to present to their pharmacist.

“This launch represents the largest reduction in prescription drug prices in history by many, many times,” Trump said at the White House on Feb. 5.

Authorities Search for Mother of Missing NBC Anchor

The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information on the recovery of the mother of NBC “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, who went missing around Feb. 1.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on the night of Jan. 31 when she was dropped off at her home in Tucson, Arizona. She was reported missing after failing to appear at her local church the next day.

Authorities say a doorbell camera at her home was disconnected in the early hours of Feb. 1, and there is no evidence of a break-in.

Immigration Enforcement: 4,000 Arrest Milestone in Minnesota

Immigration authorities have announced 4,000 arrests of illegal immigrants in Minnesota since Operation Metro Surge began in mid-December.

Among the arrests were murderers, sex offenders, gang members, and terrorists, according to a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statement.

The operation has faced coordinated resistance from organized groups since it began, leading to conflicts and the deaths of two protesters.

Minnesota is a sanctuary jurisdiction, meaning that it limits its cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

While Democrats in Congress have called for immigration enforcement reform, immigration authorities blame the lack of cooperation from local government for the deaths.

White House border czar Tom Homan has promised the drawdown of forces on the streets in return for increased coordination in picking up illegal immigrants from prisons.

On Feb. 4, Homan announced the withdrawal of 700 agents from the state.

US Arrests Key 2012 Benghazi Attack Suspect

The United States has announced it has arrested a key suspect involved in the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on a U.S. embassy and nearby CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya.

Zubayar Al-Bakoush was a main member of a 20-man team involved in the attack that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other U.S. personnel, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty.

Bakoush was a member of the Islamic extremist group Ansar al-Sharia, which was involved in the attack.

Two other members were previously sentenced. Ahmed Abu Khatallah, also known as Ahmed Mukatallah, was sentenced in 2018 to 22 years in prison, then resentenced in 2024 to 28 years; and Mustafa al-Imam was sentenced in 2020 to 20 years.
