4 Years After Genocide Declaration, Uyghur Advocates Say Not Enough Is Being Done

Lawmakers have introduced 22 bills in Congress addressing the persecution.

WASHINGTON—Four years after a London-based tribunal declared that the Chinese persecution of Uyghurs constituted a genocide, human rights advocates say the problem is still ongoing.

Dec. 9 marked the anniversary of that declaration, which stated that China was guilty of crimes against humanity, including torture, forced sterilization, enslavement, and murder of Uyghur Muslims.
