Windows 8.1 is now available for pre-order in the United States ahead of its store release date of October 18, reported the Verge and Mashable on Wednesday.
Windows 8 customers will get the upgrade to 8.1 for free.
Windows 8.1 costs $119.99, and Windows 8.1 Pro costs $199.99.
Mashable reports that 8.1 features new desktop customization options and new apps. It also brings back the Start button.
