Watch the Teaser Trailer for Disney’s Live-Action ‘Aladdin’

Updated:

Disney released the first teaser trailer for its live-action version of the film “Aladdin” on Oct. 11.

It begins with the famous pet parrot Iago flying in the sky towards the fictitious city of Agrabah where the main character Aladdin lives. Then the Sultan’s Palace where King Sultan and his daughter Jasmine live is seen next.

Viewers are then treated to a glimpse of Aladdin entering the Cave of Wonders and picking up the magic lamp, after which his life will never be the same.

The character of Aladdin is played by Mena Massoud, a Canadian actor. Naomi Scott, who starred in the “Power Rangers,” will play the princess Jasmine, while Marwan Kenzari will star as Jafar, a dark magician who has plans to become the next sultan.

Will Smith will play the genie in the film, who grants Aladdin three wishes. However, it may not be easy for Smith to live up to his predecessor, the late Robin Williams, who voiced the part in the original animated film.

“LEMME OUT!! Can’t wait for y’all to see Me BLUE! :-)” Smith wrote on Instagram on Oct. 10.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, with the screenplay written by Ritchie and John August, the musical will be released on May 24, 2019 both in UK and U.S.
