Description

The Epoch Times is looking to hire a dedicated and self-motivated journalist to report from Washington, D.C. We are looking for a versatile reporter who should be comfortable covering legislative branch proceedings, the workings of executive branch agencies, federal court filings and trials, think-tank events, and more.
Ideal candidates should be grounded in ethical journalism and dedicated to seeking and reporting the truth regardless of how it may contrast with personal convictions.

Duties

- Write five clean-copy, AP-style news articles based on original reporting every week - Anticipate, prepare for, and cover major developments - Build meaningful relationships with sources - Collect material for feature stories and maintain a pipeline of research to ensure daily production - Generate and pitch ideas for original stories and features - Work flexible days and hours which may include nights and weekends

Job Requirements

- A four-year degree in journalism, communications, or a related field - Five years of experience as a professional reporter or published body of work impressive enough to forego the experience and education requirements

The annual base pay range for this role is between $45,000 and $80,000. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range accordingly to the selected candidate’s experience, location, technical skills, and other factors.
