This week’s World Cup ski race was not supposed to be in Lindsey Vonn’s home state of Colorado, but the Olympic gold medalist used it to her advantage on Wednesday, as she claimed victory in the Super G race at Beaver Creek.

“Ever since I moved out here as a kid and was a course slipper at the ‘99 World Championships, I’ve always wanted to race here at home,” Vonn told Onthesnow.com. “Of the 46 wins that I have so far, this is probably the most special.”

Vonn beat Swiss Fabienne Suter by .37 of a second, putting her on top of the podium for the fourth time in a row this season. Her previous victories were all in Lake Louise, Canada; only one of which was in Super G. Vonn has won five out of six races in the young season.
