Scared, alone, and at the risk of losing her paw to a lethal coyote trap, Hermione the dog was not only abandoned by her owner, but the poor thing was visibly terrified as to what would happen to her before animal control called in an animal rescue group called Hope for Paws to come to rescue the poor dog and safely remove the rusted trap from her paw.
Afraid of human contact, Hermione would run into the woods each time a volunteer would come near her, but not far enough to lose sight of them. Desperate for a way to corner the dog so she could receive the much-needed help she required, the volunteers put their brains together to come up with a safe way of getting her right where they wanted her. Tying a series of soccer nets together, the volunteers essentially fenced off Hermione’s path of escape forcing her into a spot right where they wanted her.
Eventually, after a very successful surgery to remove the trap and heal her scars, Hope for Paws was able to find Hermione a forever home where the once timid and lonely dog now spends her days in the home of a caring family who loves her very much.
