Police said three family members were stabbed in a knife attack Wednesday, near a subway station in Vienna, Austria.

The victims—two parents and their adult daughter—were “seriously injured” in the city’s Leopoldstadt district, Austrian newspaper Heute reported.
According to the Telegraph, early reports sugged that a man randomly attacked the pedestrians near Vienna’s famous Prater park.

Police are still searching for the attacker.

A fourth victim was also injured in the incident, Fox News reported.

Michael Eisenriegler, a resident who lives next to where the stabbing took place, said he saw flashing lights and went closer to see what happened.

“There were maybe ... one or two dozen policemen (at the site of the attack.) And they are still there,” he told CNN. “(The road) is blocked. They are searching,” Eisenriegler said.

The attacker, whose identity is unknown at the time, fled the scene and headed to Praterstern station.

A major manhunt is now underway on the road where the attacks took place.

The three injured victims were rushed to the hospital at about 7:45 p.m. local time.

A journalist at the Austrian newspaper said the attack took place near his office.
“People shouted because three people were hit by a man who had a knife. They’re in hospital,” Clemens Oistric told CNN.
Reports said the area is on lockdown with a heavily armed police presence.
