Thanksgiving is here, along with all the turkey questions.

Here are some tips for everyone.

There are four safety issues: Thawing, Preparing, Stuffing, and Cooking to an adequate temperature.

1. Thawing

Firstly, NEVER leave a turkey out on the counter to thaw overnight.

Why? Because bacteria can grow rapidly in a raw turkey when its temperature is between 40-140 degrees.

2. Preparing

While preparing the turkey, be sure to wash hands and surfaces often.

Keep raw turkey separate from other items to prevent illness-causing bacteria from spreading.

3. Stuffing

If you’re stuffing the bird, do so just before cooking.

4. Cooking

Make sure to cook a stuffed turkey at temperatures higher than 325 degrees.

Follow these tips for a happy, and healthy, Thanksgiving!

Airports Bursting With Thanksgiving Travelers

More than 54 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home this holiday. Compare to last year, this is almost a 5 percent increase.

Cars, trains, buses, airplanes… people travel using all sorts of transportation this Thanksgiving, and here is a break down from AAA.

Driving is by far the most popular choice of transportation, with 48.5 million people expected to hit the road.

Other modes of transportation, including trains, buses, and cruise ships are expected to have 1.5 million travelers.

More than 4 million people are expected to fly. Again, this is an increase over last year.

According to airlines for America, an all-time high for air travel during the 12-day holiday period is expected, and the busiest time for flying will be the day before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after.

Massive Waterspout Towers Over Coast

Residents of a port-city in Italy’s Salerno province witnessed a striking spectacle when a huge waterspout tore across the Vietri sul Mare bay on Nov. 20.

The whirling, tornado-like column of water eventually moved onto the land and damaged trailers and moorings in the city’s port, according to local media.

Resident Antonia Stanzione was enjoying lunch with his fiancee when he saw the waterspout forming and took a video, which he shared with Reuters.

Waterspouts are similar to tornadoes and whirlwind, and are usually the result of rapid cloud formation and upward-moving air currents over a body of water, according to Encylcopedia Britannica.
