President Donald Trump said that he has no plans to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who had reportedly offered to resign last month on the heels of a report—which he denies—that accused him of discussing plans to secretly record the president.

Trump revealed his intentions regarding the No. 2 official at the Justice Department (DOJ) on Oct. 8, shortly before boarding Air Force One together with Rosenstein en route to Florida.

“I didn’t know Rod before, but I’ve gotten to know him, and I get along very well with him,” Trump told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House.

Trump Promises to ‘Straighten Out’ Crime-Ridden Chicago

President Donald Trump told law enforcement officers on Oct. 8 that he’s sending reinforcements to Chicago to “straighten it out.”

“I have directed the attorney general’s office to immediately go to the great city of Chicago to help straighten out the terrible shooting wave,” Trump told the approximately 4,000 law enforcement officers and their families at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) convention in Orlando.

“I’ve told them to work with local authorities to try to change the terrible deal the city of Chicago entered into with the ACLU, which ties law enforcement’s hands.”

Californians Search for UFOs and Aliens During SpaceX Rocket Launch

Google searches for “UFO” and “Aliens” spiked as an eerie glowing cloud spread across the California night sky on Oct 7.

The hype surrounding the latest SpaceX rocket apparently hadn’t reached some Californians, who mistook the separation of the Falcon 9 rocket as an otherworldly event.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk had tweeted the previous day: “This won’t be subtle.”

Dramatic video footage and photographs of the moment were shared across social media from users who knew the cause of the glowing clouds and streaks of red flame.

But at the exact time of the flight, Google search data shows a sharp spike in searches for “Alien” and “UFO.”

Indiana Bride Takes Wedding Photos Alone After Firefighter Fiance Killed by Drunk Driver

A bride in Indiana decided to take wedding photos in her white dress, to honor her fiance, a firefighter who was killed by a drunk driver.
Kendall Murphy was killed in November 2017 after a drunk driver struck him while he was helping a crash victim in Daviess County.

Jessica Padgett’s wedding to Murphy was scheduled for Sept. 29. She decided that she wanted to help honor her fiance. Photographer Mandi Knepp agreed to do a photo shoot of Padgett getting ready for the big day.

The pictures show Padgett getting ready with the help of friends and family members before posing with her parents, Murphy’s parents, and other groups as a traditional bride does in wedding pictures.

Dog Pitch Invasion Becomes Highlight of Georgia Soccer Game

Pitch invasions in sport often generate plenty of bad headlines—but players from Georgian teams Dila and Torpedo Kutaisi didn’t seem too unhappy when a playful dog got on to the pitch during their top flight match at the weekend.

The incident held up play for around three minutes in the second half, with the dog taking a special liking to Torpedo goalkeeper Roin Kvaskhvadze.

Medical staff failed to get the animal off the pitch before defender David Khurtsilava finally led it away.

The game ended in a 0-0 draw - despite a dogged performance from all involved.
