The Anchorage Police Department has released dashcam footage showing bystanders and a police officer saving a driver’s life by lifting him from underneath a burning car.

Just after one minute into the video, the car bursts into flames.

The video shows police responding to the rollover crash, and finding an SUV left on its side. In the video, the driver’s arm can be seen trapped under the vehicle.

One of the responding policeman, identified by the APD as Officer Mitchel Veenstra, can be seen instructing the four bystanders to help push the vehicle clear of the driver.

In the video’s description, the APD wrote:

“Thanks to the heroic acts of nearby citizens and Officer Veenstra, a life was saved on this day.”
