If anything, this video definitively proves that dogs are just toddlers covered in fur.
It seems the golden retriever didn’t want to leave the park when its owner did—so this “lazy dog” decided to play dead.
Although the video was originally published to YouTube in March 2013, the internet as recently fallen all over again for the defiant dog.
When the owner in the above video tries to pick up his pooch, the dog flails and flops back on the floor like a petulant two-year-old.

Bribing the canine with a small twig does nothing to sway its resolve. The golden retriever even goes so far as to let itself be dragged by his owner—not a first in the history of dogs’ civil disobedience, as can bee seen by this dog who, strangely, did not want to go for a walk:

Finally, however, the golden retriever’s owner manages to get his dog up and moving with the allure of an even longer stick. With the same long-term planning ability as a toddler, the dog forgets (or abandons, who knows) his goal of remaining in the park.
One YouTube commenter noted “what a great human he is to his fur baby! lot’s of patience!”
For the owner’s sake, let us hope that the “fur baby” does not later remember being in the park, and throws a tantrum like this dog:
