The latest news in the ongoing Vhong Navarro saga is that Roxanne Cabanero, one of the women to accuse Navarro of rape, has lost her job.

Cabanero claims that she was raped in 2010 when she was a contestant in the Miss Bikini Philippines pageant.

Cabanero was working as a freelance research analyst and paralegal.

She told ABS-CBN that she her contract wasn’t renewed because of her accusing Navarro of rape.

The complaint appears to have slim chances of going forward because evidence in the case points to Navarro’s innocence.

The pageant itself sued Cabanero over “damage sustained by [the organization’s] goodwill and business reputation.”

Navarro has also filed a perjury lawsuit against her.

Cabanero says that she remains hopeful that the case will move forward and, despite losing her job, she doesn’t regret filing the case.

The main case against Navarro, meanwhile, has fallen through as Deniece Cornejo’s rape complaint was thrown out by the Department of Justice, citing a lack of logic in the complaint.

Instead, Cornejo, Cedric Lee, and their group have been leveled with a range of charges including grave coercion and illegal detention.
