Vhong Navarro’s girlfriend Tanya Winona Bautista has stood by her man during the controversy that erupted after he was beaten up.
Navarro was accused of attempting to rape a 22-year-old student and model, which purportedly led to him being beaten.
However, his story--which included him being set up before getting tied up and beaten up--appears to be the right one, lining up with CCTV footage from the building.
Cedric Lee, a Philippine businessman, and Deniece Cornejo, the student--along with six other people--have been leveled with a string of criminal charges in the case.
Through it all, Winona--Navarro’s girlfriend of five years--has stuck by him, he told ABS-CBN from his hospital bed.
“She did not abandon me,” he said.
Winona also believed the whole time that he did not try to rape Cornejo, Navarro said.
Navarro noted that he has tried to keep his girlfriend shielded from the media over the years because she is not in the show business; he has previously joked that he doesn’t want her to get involved with his mischief. This can be seen in part from the lack of photos of her in his Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter feeds.
