A 27-year-old woman pleaded not guilty on Aug. 9 to stabbing her boyfriend in Lake Forest.

Kienna McKay Overstreet was charged on Aug. 8 with assault with a deadly weapon and corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, both felonies, and faces sentencing enhancements for causing great bodily injury in a domestic violence incident and the personal use of a deadly weapon.

Orange County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 10:51 a.m. on Aug. 5 to the 24000 block of Raymond Way in Lake Forest regarding the stabbing, sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Woodroof said. The victim is a man she was dating, according to the criminal complaint.

The victim was stabbed several times and was taken to a hospital to be treated for “severe” wounds, Mr. Woodroof said.

Ms. Overstreet, who was being held on $75,000 bail since her arrest Saturday, entered a plea at her arraignment in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana and was ordered to return to court for a pretrial hearing Aug. 17 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
