A 30-year-old woman who was arrested in the brutal beating of a 92-year-old Mexican national in Los Angeles was charged with attempted murder.

Laquisha Jones, 30, appeared in a Los Angeles court on Thursday, where she was charged by a judge, the Los Angeles Times reported. Jones also faces an elder abuse charge and infliction of injury in connection with the attack. Prosecutors asked her bail be set at $1.125 million.
