The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is issuing a public health alert on Costco-sold ravioli because of misbranding and undeclared shellfish allergens, according to a notice published on May 4.
A recall wasn’t requested by the agency’s Food Safety and Inspection Service “because the product is no longer available for purchase,” the agency said, adding that it is issuing the alert because some consumers may still have the product and “to ensure that consumers with shellfish allergies are aware that this product should not be consumed.”
