The University of Michigan on Saturday announced it has fired its president, Mark Schlissel, after learning via an anonymous complaint last month that he “may have been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a University employee.”

“It is with great disappointment that we announce that the University of Michigan Board of Regents has removed Dr. Mark Schlissel as President of the University of Michigan, effective immediately,” members of the University of Michigan Board of Regents said in a statement.
