Trump Unveils Plans to Rename Veterans Day as ‘Victory Day for World War I’

The president also said he will change the name of Victory in Europe Day.

President Donald Trump announced on May 1 that he will rename two holidays to celebrate what he said was the significant role the United States played in winning both World War I and World War II.

In a statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he will be changing the name of Veterans Day, which is celebrated on Nov. 11, to “Victory Day for World War I.”
