President Donald Trump announced on May 1 that he will rename two holidays to celebrate what he said was the significant role the United States played in winning both World War I and World War II.

In a statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he will be changing the name of Veterans Day, which is celebrated on Nov. 11, to “Victory Day for World War I.”
