The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced late Wednesday that it has stopped processing all immigration requests relating to Afghan nationals indefinitely, after two National Guard soldiers were shot and critically wounded in Washington.

In response to the incident, President Donald Trump earlier called for a reevaluation of every immigrant from Afghanistan who entered the United States during the Biden administration.
