President Donald Trump has upped the ante in his negotiations with the University of California–Los Angeles (UCLA), eyeing a 10-digit settlement with the school following a Department of Justice investigation into campus anti-Semitism, a White House official confirmed to The Epoch Times on Aug. 8.

The $584 million in suspended research grants announced days ago could now be doubled. CNN first reported that the $1 billion settlement includes $172 million for members of the UCLA campus community whose Civil Rights were violated during the pro-Palestinian protests following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel and the war that ensued.
