Chief Justice Roberts Declines to Meet With Senators About Alito’s Flags

Senators want Justice Samuel Alito to recuse himself from several key cases.

Chief Justice John Roberts on May 30 declined a request to meet with Democrat senators who want a Supreme Court justice to recuse himself from cases involving former President Donald Trump and the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol.

“I must respectfully decline your request for a meeting,” Chief Justice Roberts told Sens. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) in a letter obtained by The Epoch Times.
