Supreme Court Extends Order Allowing Access to Abortion Pill

A federal judge previously said a state lawsuit against mifepristone can’t move forward until federal regulators complete their review of the drug.

The U.S. Supreme Court on May 11 extended its order allowing a popular abortion pill to continue to be sent in the mail, after a federal appeals court ruling blocked the practice days before.

Justice Samuel Alito’s new order extends access to the drug until 5 p.m. on May 14.
