The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), after five hours of public comment, voted 4–3 on Aug. 21 to name the city’s new Central Subway station in Chinatown after the late Rose Pak.

Pak, who died in 2016 at the age of 68, had deep ties to the Chinatown community and was seen as a political power broker for the Chinese communist regime in San Francisco.
