A group of senators on Thursday introduced bipartisan legislation that would require the federal government to only purchase American flags that are 100 percent made in the United States.

The All-American Flag Act was introduced by Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), and Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and comes shortly after the country observed National Flag Day on June 14, in celebration of the first official U.S. flag adopted by the Constitutional Congress in 1777.
