Schumer Proposes New Plan to End Government Shutdown
The Senate minority leader’s plan would extend current funding and health care tax credits set to expire at the end of the year. Republicans are rejecting it.

WASHINGTON—Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Nov. 7 proposed a new plan to end the record-breaking federal government shutdown, drawing swift rejections from Republicans.
Schumer made the pitch ahead of a possible vote on a Republican-backed bill to fund the government.
