A failed robber was shocked Aug. 16 when he pulled a fake gun on a liquor store owner in Fountain Valley, California, only to have the owner point a real handgun back at him.

Surveillance footage from Cousins Liquor on Harbor Boulevard shows the moment the would-be robber approached Jacko Sadek, 45, who was on a night shift working at his small business.

In the video, posted in an online article by USA Today, a man dressed in all black pointed what looked like a handgun at the store’s owner, yelled “Don’t play games” and demanded money.

Unbeknown to the failed robber, the store owner had a real gun at his disposal behind the counter.

Mr. Sadek told ABC local news the gun looked like a “plastic toy.”

According to the video, the suspect ran out of the store as soon as he saw Mr. Sadek’s gun.

The store owner also said the unknown man had a driver who helped him escape, according to USA Today.

Police told Mr. Sadek they would run DNA tests on handprints left on the counter by the suspect to identify him.

Fountain Valley Police did not return a request for comment.
