Republican lawmakers gathered at California’s Capitol building June 15 to mark the 100th day since their Democratic peers promised relief from high gas prices, calling for concrete actions on relieving pain at the pump.

Gov. Gavin Newsom initially announced he was working with lawmakers to give money back to taxpayers to offset record-high gas prices during his State of the State address on March 8. He later proposed rebates for all car owners in California, but the plan has encountered delays.
