NEW YORK CITY, N.Y.—Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on May 14 that two Orange County residents pleaded guilty to what he called “the largest Medicaid fraud scheme” in the county’s history.

New Windsor husband and wife Rohail Raja, 45, and Sharma Alam, 45, pleaded guilty to stealing a collective $3.4 million from the New York State Department of Health, the Hoovler’s office said. The pair used fraudulent billing to syphon money out of the government program and into their limo companies.
