The Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended Dr. Raynaldo Rivera Ortiz Jr., an anesthesiologist, on Sept. 9 after it determined that the physician’s continued medical practice poses a threat to the welfare of the public.

“On September 8, 2022, Board staff received information from federal law enforcement engaged in an ongoing investigation involving Dr. Ortiz, relating to serious cardiac complications and one patient’s death connected with Dr. Ortiz’s presence at the Baylor Scott & White Surgicare North Dallas facility,” states a Sept. 9 press release from the Texas Medical Board.
