The Colorado man who police called a hero for having shot and killed a suspected gunman during an incident last week was killed by police while holding the suspect’s rifle, officials said.
A series of shooting incidents in the Denver suburb of Arvada on June 21 left three people dead—veteran police officer Gordon Beasley, 51; suspect gunman Ronald Troyke, 59; and onlooker John Hurley, 40.
