Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin signed a new bill into law on March 11 that allows law-abiding citizens to exercise their constitutional right to bear arms in the name of self-defense through permitless concealed carry.

After the Republican governor signed Senate Bill 150 into law, Kentucky became the 16th such state to eliminate any government documentation requirement. Other states that have eliminated their documentation requirements are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
