Justice Department Sues University of California, Alleging Anti-Semitic Educational Environment

The university is accused of violating Title VI regulations prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin.

The Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division filed a lawsuit against the University of California–Los Angeles (UCLA) over alleged failure to protect Jewish and Israeli students on campus.

The lawsuit, filed with the District Court for the Central District of California Western Division on May 26, accuses the institution of “ongoing deliberate indifference to discrimination against Jewish and Israeli students” at its university in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
